Virginia L. Boddy, 74, of Oxford, died Jan. 28 at home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Larence W. Boddy Sr.
She was born in West Chester to William L. and Martha E. Burruss Stafford.
Mrs. Boddy was a homemaker who lived in Avondale before moving to Oxford, where she lived for the past 30 years.
She was a member of the Ware Presbyterian Village Auxiliary of Oxford and was a member, deacon and past treasurer of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oxford.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Kerry A. of West Grove, Lawrence W. Jr., Allen R. and Jeffrey W., all of Oxford;
a daughter, Shirley B. Saunders of Wilmington; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;
a brother, James Stafford of Kennett Square; and two sisters, Marian Smith of Toughkenamon and Dorothy Kennedy of Trenton, N.J.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Second Presbyterian Church in Oxford. Relatives and friends can call from 10-11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Oxford Cemetery.
